This brings up an interesting thing:

Social media channels like facebook and twitter do NOT and will never meet your average marketing goals. In fact, they can be time-stealing and counter-productive when it comes to ROI. Furthermore, those channels do not provide a POS which makes tracking a "sale origin" quite difficult.

With a truckload of client-side tools and with APIs that enable novice to intermediate users to "talk" to their social media service using operating-system and/or server technology, those "social media channels" have turned into "bot-to-bot" information exchange cubes, overflowing with more than just the usual "white noise" effect.

I doubt that - unless the general public transforms their information-gathering-behaviour (which boils down to a simple "search-to-find") - there is a real future in social media all together. Data get's lost... with every copy. At the same time, information get's lost... in the big collection of short-messages like we have used them on our mobile phones since the 80s.

So what's left? The hope for a better future, where interns transform and evolve... to the specialists we once evolved into.

I wish you all the fun and success in getting there. And while you're at it, consider my 2 cents: you're thinking good, but do yourself a favor and don't stop there! There is a whole world out there that changes on a daily base... and the future of social media is more uncertain than the sustainability of classic print. ;)

This is a clever use of the iPad, especially since it's in a culinary context. Traditional menus are—by definition—an abstraction of the actual cuisine, its preparation and its provenance. For those guests who want to know more about their food and where it comes from, this app is a great idea. I look forward to experiencing some #iFood at Aria soon. =)
